Wie im offiziellen Google-Blog zu lesen ist, plant der kleine Familienbetrieb aus den USA YouTube-Videos per Click-to-Buy-Buttons künftig zu monetarisieren. Zum Einen war dieser Schritt zwar zu erwarten, aber der Knüller ist, dass auch unrechtmäßig - da mit einem Copyright belegte - eingestellte Videos zum Verkauf stehen. ReadWriteWeb schreibt:
"Music rights holders can also use YouTube's song-detection technology to - get this - put a link to buy a song under a video that uses that song without permission. That's crazy."
That's allerdings crazy und man darf gespannt sein, was da genau passieren wird. Google selbst schreibt dazu im Blog:
"This is just the beginning of building a broad, viable e-commerce platform for users and partners on YouTube. Our vision is to help partners across all industries -- from music, to film, to print, to TV -- offer useful and relevant products to a large, yet targeted audience, and generate additional revenue from their content on YouTube beyond the advertising we serve against their videos."
