Today, if all goes according to plan, the Blender Foundation releases their latest animated short, "Sintel," free on the internet. This release is remarkable because Blender, the software they use and help develop, is a free competitor to the hyper-expensive animation suites in popular usage, and because the team is extremely international and collaborates remotely. That and their films are always released for free download!
